Tactical and long range rifle training near Colorado Springs

In this two day course we will cover long range shooting including the following information:  

• positional shooting out to 250 yards
• prone shooting out to 1000 yards
• ballistic apps and their uses
• use a chronograph to get accurate velocity data on your specific rifle. 
• wind evaluation methods and formulas
• environmentals

Prerequisites:

A basic understanding of firearms safety and willingness to learn.

What you’ll learn: 

• The principles of accuracy and fundamentals of marksmanship
• Rifle set-up and maintenance
• Understanding and applying ballistics
• How to accurately estimate wind force and the effect on your trajectory

 What you need to bring:

• Rifle: High power bolt action rifle or semi-auto rifle (6mm – 338 caliber)
• Rifle must be capable of shooting 1 MOA or better. 
• Rental guns are available for an additional charge.
• Quality tactical scope with mildot or range estimation reticle and Target style adjustable turrets
  **Your scope must have externally adjustable  turrets in order for you to participate in this class.**
• Minimum 100 rounds of match-grade    ammunition per day.
• Cleaning kit
• Rugged, comfortable clothing, suitable for all weather conditions. We will shoot in any and all weather.
• A shooting or exercise mat; anything that can be rolled up and moved with you.
• Ear & eye protection, sunscreen, and a brimmed hat.
• Water.
• A small calculator or cell phone calculator.
• Note-taking material, including notepad, pencil, and Sharpie.

OPTIONAL ITEMS: RANGE FINDER, SPOOTING SCOPE

In this two hour course at our outdoor shooting range near Colorado Springs we will cover the following information:

• positional shooting out to 100 yards
• gun safety course
• function, maintenance, and cleaning 
• optics and/or iron sights
• zeroing

Prerequisites: 

A willingness to learn.

What you’ll learn:

• The principles of accuracy and fundamentals of marksmanship.
• Rifle set-up and maintenance

 What you need to bring:

• Semi-automatic rifle
• Rental guns are available for an additional charge.
• Quality optic (red dot, holographic, or low power variable scope), but iron sights will work.
• Minimum 120 rounds of ammunition
  **No steel core ammunition**
• Rugged, comfortable clothing, suitable for all weather conditions. We will shoot in any and all weather.

In this three hour tactical AR rifle training course at our outdoor shooting range near Colorado Springs you will be shootings out to 150 yards with movement.

There is a version 1 and a version 2 for this course.  Both cover foundational skills but do so with different skill drills.

Includes Law Enforcement Qualification course

What you’ll learn:

• The principles of accuracy and fundamentals of marksmanship.
• Rifle set-up and maintenance
• shooting from improvised barricades and positions
• movement with rifle followed by hasty positions 
• complete a Law Enforcement qualification course
• course is conducted primarily on steel targets for immediate feedback to the student

Prerequisites:

A basic understanding of firearms safety and willingness to learn.

 What you need to bring:

• -Minimum 200 rounds of ammunition. 
• Rugged, comfortable clothing, suitable for all weather conditions. We will shoot in any and all weather.

When hunting in Colorado you will likely encounter steep angles.  Come practice with us.  Our shooting ranges allow us to shooting at angles from 15-29 degrees

What you’ll learn:

• Shooting from at elevated rock outcropping to steel targets below. 
•  Shooting from a lower firing position at paper targets set up of the hillside at various angles.
• Learn what, if any, adjustments you will need to make to your scope of hold based on the angles to the target

What you need to bring:

• Rifle (needs to be zeroed before coming to class)
• **Rental guns are available for an additional charge.**
• Quality optic (red dot, holographic, low power variable scope, fixed power, and variable power Optics will all work fine)
•  Minimum 100 rounds of Quality ammunition. 
• Rugged, comfortable clothing, suitable for all weather conditions. We will shoot in any and all weather.

Our outdoor shooting ranges have you shooting in the beautiful Colorado outdoors.  This is not a controlled environment, so you may see native wildlife and plant life.  You will learn to shoot long ranges with the effects of wind.

We primarily use steel targets on our range allowing the students to hear immediate feedback from most of the shots.

We do NOT allow armor piercing or incendiary ammunition of any kind on our ranges.

There are no public restroom facilities on these ranges.
